  4. Shredding your chicken:  After removing your chicken from the skillet, use two forks to shred it into small pieces.
  5. Assemble your Tacos according to your package instructions warm up the taco shells or tortillas.  After filling your shells with shredded chicken, you can add whatever toppings your heart desires!

Servings: The servings for this recipe should be about 4-6 servings, depending on the size of your taco shells and the amount of chicken you will be using per taco.

Preparation time: These shredded chicken tacos should take around 30-35 minutes, including prep and cooking time.

Here’s my idea of a recipe for Chicken Enchiladas:

Ingredients:            Enchiladas W Shredded Chicken

For the sauce:

  • 2 cups tomato sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2-3 tablespoons chili powder (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the filling:

  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, American, Jack, or a blend)
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro (optional, for added flavor)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Other ingredients:

  • 8-10 corn tortillas
  • Vegetable oil (for warming the tortillas)
  • Additional shredded cheese and chopped cilantro for garnish (optional)


  1. Prepare the sauce:  Use a medium saucepan, to combine the tomato sauce, chicken or vegetable broth, chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.   2. Preparing the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, shredded cheese, diced onions, chopped cilantro (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix well to incorporate the ingredients.
  3. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to around 350°F (175°C).
